Lovely Traditional House and lots of walking!
We loved the courtyard and sat outside for breakfast everyday. The house was big with enough bathrooms for everyone to have their own. Lots of bedrooms/beds to choose from and air conditioning in every room. The kitchen was stocked with just enough utensils for cooking -not that we stayed in much. Everywhere was spotlessly clean and we had plenty of towels. The location was great if you don't mind a walk and your are mobile enough to manage the sometimes steep roads. There were many routes to take to either St.Julian's, Balluta, the ferry, restaurants or the shops and all no more than 15/20 minutes. The walk to the ferry was probably the most direct and this a lovely day out if you plan to visit Valletta. The location is residential so you feel like you are away from the touristy spots however we preferred this. We did hire a car for the duration and despite the house not having parking, we did manage to park on the street every night (sometimes having to drive around a little bit). We were also advised of another place to park for free, a 5 min walk away, but we actually didn't need it. We ate at the Istanbul Kebab House, (around the corner) as we arrived late on our first night. The pizza's and salads were lovely and can totally recommend. There is a pharmacy and 2 grocery shops also around the corner so if you are not planning to hire a car, you will still be able to get everything you need. We were also advised to use e.cabs for any local taxi's and we did actually use them more than we imagined. They are incredibly cheap and never had to wait more than a couple of minutes. I would totally recommend this house as your base especially if you are a large party. I would recommend a car to explore and find the best beaches (we really liked Gnejna Bay).
I can't think of anything much however I would say a few more utensils, tumblers and bowls in the kitchen would have been welcome. We did eat in a couple of times and we managed, but only just. We followed the recycling calendar left for our attention but were not left any more bags other than the one bin bag in the main kitchen. I purchased more black bags as we were there for 2 weeks but it would have been really nice if we had been left a selection of the right bags to use. We were eaten alive by the mosquito's. They totally feasted on each of us. We did buy citronella candles and buy repellant but I guess we were so tasty they bypassed it all!

Comfortable
Three of us stayed in this huge house that sleeps up to 10 guests, and there were plenty of bathrooms for us to choose from. The host was easy to contact and met us promptly at the door, even though we arrived earlier than expected (our flight arrived early and the taxi arrived fast). There was a little confusion over the house number as all the house numbers were changed at some point, so there are two numbers on many houses. Everything was explained to us by the host on arrival and the house was as big as described, very clean, and had all the necessary amenities. It was chilly in January, but the A/C kept us warm and there were extra blankets in the cupboard. Beds were comfy. I personally prefer firm pillows, and this house has soft pillows, but there were two per guest and I slept well. The TV had Netflix and international channels. The wifi worked well. It's a little weaker on the top floor, but that wasn't an issue. The washing machine worked perfectly. We didn't use the tumble dryer but used the clothes rack instead. Due to the cold, rainy weather we didn't get to use the patio or rooftop, but the patio looked like a great space to eat outside. We asked for a cutting board for the kitchen as we couldn't find one anywhere, and the hosts brought us a new one very quickly during the same evening. The house is located on a quiet street with fast food takeaways and a 24/7 convenience store on the next street. There is also a lovely little coffee shop nearby. It's easy and safe to walk to the shopping area where the ferries are also located. Taxis arrived within 1 or 2 minutes whenever we ordered them. We had an excellent stay and would highly recommend this house!

PERFECTION AND BEYOND
Everything. 1) The house is very clean. 2) It is large enough to accomodate at least 10 people easily. 3) Marianne is such a great host. Greeted us in the house and gave us all necessary info about the house, the neighborhood and even helped us get a taxi for our departure. 4) The kitchen has all the essentials like oil, sugar, salt, etc. 5) Location is perfect (if you do not mind walking up the hill). 10min walking and you are by the seaside of Sliema and 10min walking to the other direction and you are in St. Jillian. 6) The TV has Netflix which was awesome.
There is "nothing" we did not like about the house. Just if you need to walk from the bus station, it takes about 10 minutes and about half of this time is up the hill. Sliema is like a labyrinth and there are many ways to get to the house. Some a bit steep and some steeper. You will find your own way eventually.
